Contact the manufacture of the hair color. Most often, they will have customer service representatives who can assist with specific advice for their product. You can usually find toll-free numbers on the instruction sheet.

Step2

Visit your local beauty supply store. Many hair care products on the market are purposely designed to remove the color from your hair. Make sure you read the products carefully or ask for assistance from the employees to ensure the product is what you want.

Step3

Wash your hair in hot water multiple times in the first 24 hours. Hot water will speed up the removal process as well as using shampoo and conditioner. Prell shampoo is a good choice because it seems to strip the color from the hair better than other brands. This shampoo can be found at you local drug store.

Step4

Apply a hot oil treatment to your hair. Get the oil as hot as you can, but be carefully not to burn yourself when applying. Let sit as directed on product than wash out with hot water. Remember hot is the key here, the warmer the product the more effective they will work.

Step5

Consult a hair colorist. If after trying these efforts you are still unhappy with your hair, a professional will help determine what your next step should be.
