Despite any advertisements, there aren't any hair products that will significantly increase the rate at which your hair grows. It's just genetics. I'm Asian and my hair grows fast. Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the time and it makes your hair grow faster. You can find it at walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair.

okayy it depends on every person shampoo and conditioner does not make it grow for you. they just make your hair shiny and good smelling. ur hair grows depending how u eat, because the food gives you growth. (dont be picky, and eat a lot of vitamins and calcium)

I have very sensitive and oily hair.. what shampoo should I use?
My hair is extremely sensitive and oily. I can't even traighten it because if I did my head would probably turn into a porcupine. Right now I use organic baby shampoo (it's really gentle and i actually like it) and shower each day. Is it a good idea though? But I still don't know what kind of a conditioner to use.I have very sensitive and oily hair.. what shampoo should I use?

Long hot showers are really bad for your skin, especially your scalp which is more sensitive and takes the brunt from your showerhead. A big help would be to limit your time in the shower as much as possible... Also, making the water as cool as possible helps too. It makes the shower less fun, but these things really help. You can use a dandruff shampoo daily, that is fine, until your dandruff is gone then you can switch to every other day. Avoid using styling products on your scalp because they will irritate it. I noticed my hair loss was less in the summer and my dermatologist explained that this was due to UV rays promoting hair growth and health. I would go tanning every so often (with sunscreen to protect my skin) and this did help. Although very expensive, you can buy your own lamp so it only gets your scalp.
I read that Beta Carotene supplements promoted hair (%26amp; nail) growth. I took those and it seemed to help too.
I also used Rogaine which irritated my skin - so I couldn't tell you honestly if it worked. There were a lot of other products like Propecia, I couldn't try because they were made for males and could possibly lead to future problems with reproduction.

I have pretty thick wavy hair and it tends to get kinda frizzy and dry and I've been trying to find something to make it a little softer and smoother. Tigi Bed Head's Moisture Maniac line not only smells amazing, but it's one of the few shampoo-and-conditioner pairs that will tame my crazy hair. I'd definitely recommend it.
Oh, and don't throw away the shampoos and conditioners that you don't like! I was thinking that you might want to check out Clean The World ( http://www.cleantheworld.org ) and perhaps send your used shampoos and conditioners to them via Central Care Mission. I started using Henna Hut's shampoo line and just love it. My hair is much easier to manage and softer. People actually want to touch my hair instead of asking me why i just don't cut it off.
You should pair it with the henna hair conditioner and you will just be absolutely amazed at the results.

(you spray it on when you get out of the shower and it detangles and makes it shiny, and continued use makes your hair more managable.) I recommend thermasilk leave-in conditioner and detangler (especially if you blowdry your hair. good luck!

So I went down and took her to the beauty salon and they put a permanent solution in her hair, normally you would use this to curl your hair right, but they just combed it through and it came out beautiful, no more frizz. Yes, because her hair is thick and curly, it came out as a soft wave, but that was alot better them before, Now this cost me $80.00 to do this, so the next time we did this, I went to a beauty supplier store, and the were very helpful on which permanent solution to buy, and it was less then $20.00, and again it worked great, just remember to follow the instructions, just don't use the curlers, just comb it through and remember to get it completely drenched in the really thick area of your hair. You might need someone to help you with this, because the back of you head and you don't want to get this stuff in your eyes. After this you'll need to get a hair cut, only because the ends get damage with any permanent, but only a trim, OK. Good luck with this. I hope I have help you out.

Need a good cleaning shampoo for color treated hair?
I'm a guy who colors my hair to cover up the grey. I'm going to use permanent dye next time I color. I am looking for a shampoo that has good cleaning power as my scalp tends to get oily but one that hopefully won't strip the color as soon as I use it. I love American Crew shampoo but that takes out the color of temporary dye. I also use Modern Organic Productions Blue shampoo which is a great cleaner but also strips the color out.

Use it as a repair product, then swith to one called Replace. Sometimes all you have to do is repair the hair first and swith to a good moisturizing conditioner. Its been a few years, so they may have something even better now. I have found that many products have polymers, if that is on the label of ingredients, don't use it, they dry the hair. Do it and tell me how it goes, look online and in yellow pages for a salon that sells them. Are you a redhead? African American hair responds well to this too for softer hair.

I have coarse hair too. Plus, mine tends to be dry sometimes. I use Keracare shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo detangles my hair and retains moisture. When I'm done, my hair is very soft and manageable.
I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair and i use this conditioner by Nexxus called Humectin. It adds moisture to my hair so its softer. It's the only thing that works for me :-)
Try using Keracare. It's expensive, but it works great with my hair. I have coarse long hair (not a weave) so keeping it nice is a real challenge.

I have coarse hair too. Plus, mine tends to be dry sometimes. I use Keracare shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo detangles my hair and retains moisture. When I'm done, my hair is very soft and manageable.
I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair and i use this conditioner by Nexxus called Humectin. It adds moisture to my hair so its softer. It's the only thing that works for me :-)
Try using Keracare. It's expensive, but it works great with my hair. I have coarse long hair (not a weave) so keeping it nice is a real challenge.

Don't use heat alot either, to much heat is really bad for hair. Remember heat protectant.

9.avoid heated hair tools

maybe you have ruined your hair by washing it everyday. that can make it worse. baby shampoo or the old prell that came back out is good for taking oils out of hair. be careful about the every day wash, that can make it more greasy.

The best shampoo that will enable your hair to grow is one that is appropriate for your hair texture. I don't believe that shampoos hasten hair growth, but if you find one that is good for your hair, you will decrease the amount of split ends, and split ends cause your hair to look as though it is growing slower (which is why they recommend you cut your hair every 6 weeks or so). Therefore, I personally use Redken Smooth Down, which is for dry/unruly hair (my hair texture). I also use a Rusk sea-kelp lusterizer, which protects my hair when I blow it dry. Your best bet is to find shampoo that is designed for your texture. I do not recommend buying shampoo from Wal-Mart, as the conditioner is chalked full of stuff that coats your hair to make it soft and shiny, but really continues to pile on. It is better to find conditioner that leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean and not smooth clean. A really nice shampoo and conditioner is the Pureology line, especially if you have color-treated hair. It is on the expensive end, but it is nice. I recommend Redken products or Healthy Sexy Hair products if you don't want to spend a lot of money. Also, hair grows when you stimulate the scalp, so when I lay in bed at night, I massage my scalp lightly. You can try that as well.For experienced users only!! It is known that henna is actually easier to apply onto DAMP hair (like towel dried). It is so much easier adn much less messy! So try that.
The above tips should make your henna application much easier. Make sure you use body art quality henna powder as it is the purest henna out there with no additives nor metallic salts. You want to start putting the henna on your hair when it is fairly clean, but dry.

She was using shoe polish before she discovered how easy it was to use Just For Men.

My suggestion would be to use a semi-perm color, but if you want it to match, spend the extra money and have it done by a professional. Otherwise you'll end up like a ton of guys whose hair I've fixed because it ended up un-natural looking, either by being too dark, or too light.
You can also call a high end salon and ask to speak to their color specialist. She/he may be able to whip you up a shampoo with perm color in it.
The problem with grey hair is that it is hard to hide. Only a semi-perm or perm color will hide it. It's stubborn and rinses/shampoos usually wont work.

I am a guy my hair is about 5-6 inches long all around, trying to grow it out a little more. My problem is that my hair is thin and just mats down most of the time. I use some shampoo, but I am not sure of the specifics, and no conditioner.

I would use conditioner. There are baby conditioners out there, but really, you should be just fine to use the kind you use. Especially with the formaldehyde statistics coming out about all the baby shampoos, I am weary to recommend any baby product.

Check it out, at your local health nut store. My mum got it for me, and its quite nice.
You could go to kids shampoo they have conditioner in them I use suave for kids cherry its a 2 in one. Loreal has one too. But they also have shampoo and conditioner separate, look in the shampoo section at your store there are lots with no tear formula. Also, if the baby's hair is short I use to use baby lotion on my kids' heads. It helps with dry scalp and cradle cap, and it will train the hair to stay down. You could also try that. Good luck.

*Conditioner- Apply to hair that's been rung out and only to the ends. applying conditioner to the scalp can make it greasy and plus our scalp produces its own oil. it doesnt need help.
but as for good shampoos... i do recommend a professional brand. it does make a difference because the ingredient quality is much higher in professional..
i suggest Remedy shampoo from L'anza, or pepprmint from AG
as for the curly hair. same shampooing technique and she can use the same shampoo and conditioner but use a cream product like Bouncy Cream from ISO after she gets out of the bath. it will be like a leave in conditioner with curl definition.

I stopped using Pantene and all those generic brands because of the high level of chemicals and parabens, which can actually cause more long-term damage (and simply aren't meant to be put into your body). Nature's Gate is wonderful, and they sell it at any local health food store. Another I love is Dr. Bronners liquid soap which can be used as shampoo. That's another great one.
Another thing you could do is go to your local health shop and ask someone who works there about their hair and beauty products. Vegan products are great too.

I have tried tea tree oil shampoo and it works pretty good. The one that I like the best is Redken Hair Cleansing Cream. It sounds dumb to put cream on oily hair, but it has fruit acids in it that strip away styling products and impurities. And you should use a light conditioner everyday especially in the winter, just don't put any on your roots.

Try using a sulfate free shampoo or shampoo bar, and a good, rich conditioner. Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose is really good, but not always easy to find (Whole Foods, some health food stores). My favorite that be found almost anywhere is L'oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss for long curly hair (formula with no amodimethicone). ';Dust'; your split ends when you find them - snip the single hair 1/2 an inch above the end of the split using a sharp pair of haircutting scissors - don't use a nail clipper or anything else, or it will grind the end up, making it split much worse later on.
Also, don't forget to do a deep treatment a couple of times a month to keep your hair moisturized and strong.

My hair is naturally straight , and i do have an oily scalp .

Unfortunately, I spent a lot of wasted money on expensive shampoos when I should have stuck with the brand I trusted before I dyed my hair. Dove. I buy the shampoo for darkened hair, and it does exactly what I want it to do. The color lasts a long time. My hair is soft and shiny, but never greasy. let me start off by saying that your oily hair problem might partially be the result of you washing it too much. you should only be washing your hair once a day.
my hair is actually similar to yours -- i dye it and i also have an oil problem. in my experience, Biolage Color Therapie has been the best shampoo out there. it's expensive (big bottle is about $30) because it WORKS. Biolage is great for your hair, plus it has color protection. for conditioner i use Suave Humectant -- it adds a lot of moisture without adding grease. it's also really cheap.
on top of those two, i also use Selson Blue with added Moisture. this is the first thing i use, and you apply it to your scalp only. after that i use Biolage and then Suave. these products have really been working wonders for me.
and once you add moisture to your hair, shine should come with it!

Basically you put it on your hair evenly in a spare-able amount [it's expensive for a little]. And then you comb it straight while blow drying.
