What kind of shampoo and conditioner will make my hair grow faster?

My hair seems to grow slow and im sick of it! If it helps im half white and half black if that makes a difference. What kind of shampoo and conditioner will make my hair grow faster?
Despite any advertisements, there aren't any hair products that will significantly increase the rate at which your hair grows. It's just genetics. I'm Asian and my hair grows fast. My stepsister, who is half Asian, has hair that grows extremely slow. Her brother's hair grows fast. Everyone's different.

The best thing you can do is keep your hair healthy with appropriate shampooing and conditioning. Many hair dressers also recommend a trim once in a while to keep the dead ends off (every 6 weeks or so). According to them, this keeps hair from becoming brittle, which will make it less likely for ends to snap off. What kind of shampoo and conditioner will make my hair grow faster?
Race doesn't make a difference, and there really isn't too much you can do about that kind of thing, but the best hair treatments to use would be Pantene Pro-v Beautiful Lengths shampoo and conditioner. Or the Root Awakening treatment from John Freida.Try those out, and try eating healthy, which includes protein. Hair itself is a protein. So eating protein will help more. Oh, and wash the shampoo out with cold-ish water. It locks in the nutrients. I hope I helped.
Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the time and it makes your hair grow faster. You can find it at walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair.

okayy it depends on every person shampoo and conditioner does not make it grow for you. they just make your hair shiny and good smelling. ur hair grows depending how u eat, because the food gives you growth. (dont be picky, and eat a lot of vitamins and calcium)

I have very sensitive and oily hair.. what shampoo should I use?

My hair is extremely sensitive and oily. I can't even traighten it because if I did my head would probably turn into a porcupine. Right now I use organic baby shampoo (it's really gentle and i actually like it) and shower each day. Is it a good idea though? But I still don't know what kind of a conditioner to use.I have very sensitive and oily hair.. what shampoo should I use?
i love panten pro-v,and aussie.

What kind of shampoo/conditioner products prevents from my hair fall off?

I dont take shower everyday because I do not want my hair thinner. I used shampoo and my hair fell off. It is like my scalp couldn't hold my hair to stay in. Sure, I know the little fall off is normal, but this one is like double one.

Is there any remedy like nutrition to keep my hair stay with scalp to make it stronger to hold while I take shower?

I m female who has good hair. What kind of shampoo/conditioner products prevents from my hair fall off?
use only organic...aubrey organics, or avalon organics is great. I use the Avalon Organics, Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo, 14 fl oz (400 ml) ...get it from iherb.com and use the matching conditioner and my hair hasnt been falling out as much, and its much silkier and healthier.

You can also put in aloe vera gel to your hair and scalp and this helps hair to regrow, and coconut oil too...rub into your scalp and helps regrowth!!What kind of shampoo/conditioner products prevents from my hair fall off?
It depends what kind of shampoo you're using. If you're using regular shampoo that you buy at a local drugstore, then you might be sensitive to the detergents used in those shampoos, they tend to be a bit harsh. I would recommend either using baby shampoo or organic shampoo. Both are very gentle, safe to use everyday and won't strip the hair of natural nutrients.
About 100 hairs falls a day- this is normal

It is abnormal when the rate of hair loss is greater than hair growth

The first steps are to stop using chemicals on your hair.

Use simple and powerful hair oil like Mira hair oil

Massage the oil on to the scalp and it stops hair loss , be sure to also reduce stress and eat a good diet, drink lots of water about 10 glasses a day to boost immune system

Eat lots of vegetables and fruits

These simple changes can reduce hair fall and make it look healthier. You can find more about Mira hair oil for hair loss below

What kind of shampoo should I use for oily hair and dandruff?

I have hair that is somewhat oily and I also have dandruff. I use Head and Shoulders that is for normal hair. I've heard that it's not good to use head and shoulders every day. So I have some White Rain shapoo that I use about every other day. That shapoo seems to make my hair dry while in general I still have dandruff. Suggestions are greatly appriciated. Thanks. What kind of shampoo should I use for oily hair and dandruff?
Neutrogena T-GELWhat kind of shampoo should I use for oily hair and dandruff?
selsan blue medicated

i use it and it works really good.

i hope this helps!

%26lt;3
Pantene Pro-V/ anti-dandruff
Neutrogena T-Gel smells AWFUL... I wouldnt recommend it unless you have REALLY bad dandruff! I have the same issues, and some of it can be your showering habits. Long hot showers are really bad for your skin, especially your scalp which is more sensitive and takes the brunt from your showerhead. A big help would be to limit your time in the shower as much as possible... Also, making the water as cool as possible helps too. It makes the shower less fun, but these things really help. You can use a dandruff shampoo daily, that is fine, until your dandruff is gone then you can switch to every other day. Avoid using styling products on your scalp because they will irritate it. I know it seems like a lot, but it really works! Head and shoulders is fine, you might be able to even find it for oily hair.

  • How do i stop my hair from further THINNING? Shampoo?

Im only 20, my hair isnt really thin...but i see it getting thinner. So i wanna try to either slow down or stop the process. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.How do i stop my hair from further THINNING? Shampoo?
A lot of this depends on what is causing your hair loss...

I am female and have lost all of my hair twice and patches of it numerous times. I had/have (in remission) Alopecia Areata which literally translates to ';hair loss in areas.'; After my second ';round'; of loss, I figured that it was triggered by stress (for others (males %26amp; females) it was anything from food allergies to pregnancy to who knows). Now this may not be applicable to you but some of the following might help:

I went to a dermatologist and was given cortisone kenalog injections/shots in the areas where I had lost hair. While it didn't prevent loss, it did speed up the re-growth process (3 to 4 months).

I noticed my hair loss was less in the summer and my dermatologist explained that this was due to UV rays promoting hair growth and health. I would go tanning every so often (with sunscreen to protect my skin) and this did help. Although very expensive, you can buy your own lamp so it only gets your scalp.

I read that Beta Carotene supplements promoted hair (%26amp; nail) growth. I took those and it seemed to help too.

I also used Rogaine which irritated my skin - so I couldn't tell you honestly if it worked. There were a lot of other products like Propecia, I couldn't try because they were made for males and could possibly lead to future problems with reproduction.

The bottom line is START your treatment NOW. I would go see a dermatologist and a general practitioner. Good luck. I know it's not fun.How do i stop my hair from further THINNING? Shampoo?
First of all, popular to common belief shampoo is actually irritating to skin and hair and may be the reason your hair is thinning other than genetics.

Wash your hair with baking soda and conditioner instead. I think its 1 tablespoon of baking soda with a glass of warm water and use that as a shampoo. Then use conditioner.
start rogaine now and it will stop the thinning and possibly grow more hair.
DONT use conditioner this happened to my sister and now it works for her

What is good shampoo/conditioner for thick somewhat dry hair?

I have pretty thick wavy hair and it tends to get kinda frizzy and dry and I've been trying to find something to make it a little softer and smoother. I've used all kinds of shampoo and conditioner and -nothing- has worked! It still gets dry and I can't get it to smooth out and take some of the body out of it. I need suggestions for a really good quality shampoo, not L'Oreal or Pantene, something professional. I'm willing to pay alot at this point. What is good shampoo/conditioner for thick somewhat dry hair?
tresemieWhat is good shampoo/conditioner for thick somewhat dry hair?
I usually switch it up from drugstore to salon brands. For drugstore brands, I really do like Herbal Essences, especially their Long Term Relationship stuff. Also, TRESemme is okay; not the best, not the worst. I prefer professional brands. I love Thermafuse, which is 19 dollars each, but it works amazingly. I use the Moisture one. Also, Joico, Iso, Biolage, Frederik Fekkai is good. You just need to shop around and see what you like best.
Tigi Bed Head's Moisture Maniac line not only smells amazing, but it's one of the few shampoo-and-conditioner pairs that will tame my crazy hair. I'd definitely recommend it.

Oh, and don't throw away the shampoos and conditioners that you don't like! I was thinking that you might want to check out Clean The World ( http://www.cleantheworld.org ) and perhaps send your used shampoos and conditioners to them via Central Care Mission. I'm a big fan of good hair products, but any that don't suit my fancy, or the tail ends of the shampoos and conditioners, get sent to them to help prevent disease and death in Third World countries.

    Matrix Sleek Look.

It might be expensive, but it really is the best.
Redken Smooth Down shampoo. I have thick %26amp; kind of frizzy hair too; my hairstylish recommended it to me, and it works wonderful!
definitely pantene, it's the best for revitalizing your hair.
herbal essences hello hydration(the blue kind). and bed head is a really good brand from salons ;)
i have same problem and ive always used pantene or dove
You should try a Jojoba rosemary mint shampoo, henna hut carries one that is all natural and just smells wonderful. I also have thick kind of curly that as soon as it drys became a total frizzy mess. I started using Henna Hut's shampoo line and just love it. My hair is much easier to manage and softer. People actually want to touch my hair instead of asking me why i just don't cut it off.

You should pair it with the henna hair conditioner and you will just be absolutely amazed at the results.

What shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair really works?

I just bleached my hair and it's a gorgeous strawberry blonde. Anyways my hair color tends to fade so fast!! I want this light color to last as long as possible!

Any shampoo/conditioners that really work and helps color from fading? thanksWhat shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair really works?
    pantene

.What shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair really works?
The best way to protect your color is to wash your hair less. Don't wash it every day; try every other day, and put your hair up in a showercap on days you don't wash.

Try a color-protecting shampoo to keep hair vibrant when you do wash it; pantene makes really nice shampoo.
I dye my hair blond. I use Pantene Texture Shampoo and Pantene Protecting leave in spray conditioner. I have had great resutls with them.
you bleached hair. you took the color out, you didnt put any in. so there wont be any fade
buy TRESemme and it says that on the bottle ';for color treated hair'; or something like that i think
nothing works as good as it should:[ try redken (sp?)

What kind of shampoo/conditioner is good for your hair but comes at an affordable price?

My hair is dry and falls out from cheaper shampoos but I don't like to pay salon prices. Any ideas? What kind of shampoo/conditioner is good for your hair but comes at an affordable price?
Your hair may be falling out for another reason. See a dermatologist for a professional diagnosis. If you are lucky you may simply be shampooing your hair too often.

As for a choice, aside from shampoos for specific skin conditions and parasitic infestations they are all remarkably similar and quite often the pricier brands are manufactured in the same factories as the cheaper brands. The difference between a $1 bottle of white rain and a $20 dollar bottle of salon shampoo is little more than packaging, dye and fragrance.

The more oil put in a shampoo the less it dries out your hair. If you have dry hair use the shampoo for that type. Other than that pick a shampoo with a scent you like for as cheap a price as you feel comfortable. What kind of shampoo/conditioner is good for your hair but comes at an affordable price?
If you go to a Walmart, they have good shampoos for cheap. I wouldn't suggest Garnier or Fructis. They make your hair feel and look greasy. Herbal Essences in the pink bottle is the best. It is strawberry scented and works the best to smooth and hydrate.

    Hope I helped!
tresemme shampoo is the BEST cheap salon shampoo. bout 5 or 6 bucks a bottle i think. maybe 4. i think its 4 at walgreens.
i use garnier fructis shampoo and condishioner. i stock up on it when its on sale. loooovvveeee it.
    PANTENE!

What would happen if you added Nair to a bottle of shampoo? Would it make someones hair fall out if they use?

No I don't want to do this. My friend is concerned that that happened to her. What would happen if you added Nair to a bottle of shampoo? Would it make someones hair fall out if they use?
Since Nair takes at least 10 minutes to work, I highly doubt it because shampoo is usually washed off right away. If this was possible, the hair would fall out immediately and you would know right there. What would happen if you added Nair to a bottle of shampoo? Would it make someones hair fall out if they use?
umm yes it will depending on how much was put into it...

she should go see a hairstylist thats what my friend did..they could tell where they were dyeing from to try and help her she cut her hair a certain way it was cute and you couldnt see her bawlddd spot =]...
    i assume it would...
Yea it would. But it could also be more worse than that too. Most people don't time themselves when washing their hair and could leave it in their hair longer than you should and it could damage their skin and cause alot of pain. Even more if it gets into your eyes 0.0
I would smell the bottle of shampoo and see if it has that nair scent *gag* and then I would check it in like a small patch on your arm or something to see if it removes that hair.
hahahaha. thats hilarious!!! i'm not laughin at ur friend or anything, but thats funny. nair doesn't work on that thick of hair...it works on this hair, it doesn't even work on most peoples legs, cuz their hair is too thick. that. haha, that question made me laugh..........lol
Number one it has to stay on for 10 minutes to be effective and then the hair has to be fairly short and fine. Nice try
yes, definitely. Sometimes people do that as an april fools day prank...did she lose all her hair?

There is none. Shampoo molecules go into the hair shaft, attach themselves to molecules of dirt and oil and wash out. So shampoo cleans hair, that is all it can do. No shampoo can change the curl pattern of your hair.

I like Suave Green Apple or Strawberry or Coconut or Milk %26amp; Honey. You might try the Herbal Essences suggestion too, but don't use anything deliberately drying and harsh like a dandruff shampoo or else that might actually be causing the overproduction of oil and grease to compensate.

I'm Spanish so our hair is always oily. I have found that Biolage (for dry hair) works great and smells good too. It's fairly cheap (depending on where u go to buy it).

Usually Salons will have sales that allow u to by the shampoo and get the conditioner for free. In addition, it lasts you longer. If it's over $10, I would suggest getting it. Cheap shampoos have the tendency to dry your hair out causing dead ends. What is the best shampoo or condistioner for oily hair?
I don't have oily hair but i know that the only shampoo i will really have had good luck with that you can buy at like walmart or a drug store is pantene i would look at their product and see if they have anything for oily hair if they do I'm sure it will work i use salon products now but if i ever don't have the money at the time i need to get more i use pantene products -good luck !
I like kiss my face whenever shampoo you can get it at a natural market. Prell is good for oily hair and so is suave clarifying shampoo. I have oily hair. I use biolage detangling solution for a conditioner. It is $14.
AUSSIE shampoos and conditioners are amazing. They smell great and there are only a few certain types for certain hair conditions-- oily hair treatment is one that is easily found.
The best I ever found was Hemp Shampoo! And once I put a slight colour to my hair, I never had oily hair again!
i dont know a shampoo/conditioner that is good for that, but you can actually dust some baby powder on your roots, to absorb the oil, then you have to rub it in so it doesn't stand out too much..i have black hair, and it works really well...quick...cheap..and easy..and smells fresh.

___what works better is really dark loose face powder.
';Drama Clean'; by Herbal Essences. It smells really nice too!!
    Matrix
avoid bottles that say shampoo+ conditioner

    Pantene or Pert works well
i use pantine when my hair is oily and when i get out its soft and i always get compements that my hair smells good
if you have oily hair, don't use conditioner because like when you sweat... your hair will get wet and disgusting..use shampoo..dove: hair therapy is really good. I have oily hair also, and ever since i didn't use conditioner, my hair is way better, stayed soft..
Unfortunately, That's something you need to find out for yourself. Everyone's Hair is different, just like your skin. And some shampoos work better for other people. I always had oily hair as a kid and have always used Pantene, as it worked best for me. But most stylists will tell you that the ph balance is bad for your hair. Well, it works great for me. But you really do just need to try a few different brands till you find one that works for you.

Well this is probably not going to answer your question but I just go natural. I use honey as a shampoo. I know. It sounds weird but it WORKS. I have black hair - kinda nappy. When I use honey as a shampoo or I leave in it for an hour or two, it makes it extremely soft and I can comb right through it. When you apply honey on longer hair, it volumizes the hair and conditions it. You can look it up anywhere. Honey has been a natural conditioning hair treatment for years.

I'm a guy and I've been growing my hair out the past few months, and as it's gotten longer, it's become more and more unmanageable. I'll wash it 2 or 3 times with Pert Plus, but within seconds of stepping out of the shower, it's all tangly and dehydrated-feeling. I found that the Tresseme line is one of the best I have tried. I tried Pantene and it's garbage. It made my hair greasy. I like the John Frieda line too. Pert Plus isn't that great of a shampoo, especially if it is a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner.

If you want to deep condition, leave it in longer than the bottle says. And as for a detangler, you can use Johnson's detangler for kids, or Sleek Look by Matrix. What's a good shampoo/conditioner for long brown hair?
john frieda's brilliant brunette collection made my brown hair dry. You need to drop a little $$ and get a moisturizing shampoo such as paul mitchell and get a moisturizing conditioner (try to get both products made by the same manufacturer- And then- if you have time, try to deep condition your hair once a week- if that is ridiculous to you- just by a spray-in leave-in conditioner that also detangles. (you spray it on when you get out of the shower and it detangles and makes it shiny, and continued use makes your hair more managable.) I recommend thermasilk leave-in conditioner and detangler (especially if you blowdry your hair. good luck!

I'd try Sunsilk, Pantene, VO5, and Herbal Essences. I mainly use Sunsilk, and it works great! You can buy all these at supermarkets and drug stores for very cheap. Some of them even come in different scents and are personalized for frizzy, curly, wavy, straight hair, etc.
Salon products are best, but if you're not willing to spend the money, than just get one that says for oily hair on it. It won't be as good, but it should still help at least a little.

I had the same problem as you...I am very active and I'm always out in the sun. My hair was always dry and very damanged because I straightened my gair. But Herbal Essences is very moistirizing and strengthens your hair. It is definitely one of the best on the market. It is great. What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry hair?
i would try bed head's dumb blonde shampoo and conditioner. it works wonders for my clients and myself. and just as a reminder, products sold at stores like cvs are not approved by the products themselves and 9 times out of 10 are tampered with. you can most of the time find them cheaper at salons and when bought at salons always come with a guarantee. i work at smart style, a regis based company out of walmarts, and you have 30 days to try a product and bring it back to try something else out if you don't like it. that way you can find exactly what your hair needs! and we have different sales every month, so you'll find something that will help you out! hope that helps!

oh and about pantene: they have wax based oils in their products that do in fact make your hair appear silkier, but actually cause build up on your hair and leave it more damaged over time! it is one of the worst shampoos and conditioners to buy because of that reason!
Pantene is the best, for dry hair. Just some ideas for you here. Rinse your hair out after swimming, always. Use a protective spray in your hair before you go swimming. And when you go to rinse out your conditioner always leave a little on your hair. You could also rub a teaspoon of vaseline over the palms of your hands when your hair is dry and just scrunch it through and this brings shine and protection.
Catwalk Oatmeal %26amp; Honey shampoo and conditioner is gr8 for dry hair plus nurishes damaged. It should be available tho I'm not sure... if not, then use something that specifically says it adds hydration. Deep condition your hair once a week for 15mins w/ extra virgin coconut oil. Use a good hair serum daily, like Citre Shine, which is available @ cvs %26amp; is cheap. :)

    G'luck!
    try dove moisture theraphy shampoo and conditioner it has moisture serum that makes your hair prettier,straighter and softer try it for two weeks then you will see the difference of your hair.:%26gt;

also, head and shoulders is good too.

Do you think that in commercials, they use their own products to get the results they show? (in shampoo/hair)?

Have you ever seen those commercials with real cheap bad shampoo? Like Herbal Essences. And they show people with real gorgeous amazing shiny fantabulous hair? Do they use their own products to get hair like that? B/c almost every product they have, sucks.Do you think that in commercials, they use their own products to get the results they show? (in shampoo/hair)?
They hire people with amazing hair to begin with..then they style it with professional hair stylers and put some products in.

They couldn't tell you that they used their products and lie.. but if it is curling gel or something and their hair model has professionals put it in, and has naturally perfectly curly hair.. then if they just use a certain amount.. like the size of a pea.. then it is not a lie..

they most likely did simple photoshopping.. like any frizz at all would have been photoshopped.Do you think that in commercials, they use their own products to get the results they show? (in shampoo/hair)?
I think the people they use in it have really pretty hair already and just edit it on he computer to make it look shinney.
No, I think a lot of it is air brushed.
Definetly not!Have you seen some of the Garnier shine serum hair commercials?!You have to use TONS of different products to get your hair THAT shiny.
no, they cheat by camera affects and lighting affects. Or it depends if your hair suits herbal essences. I personally know that, that shampoo is really sucky.
I GUESS I'M NOT ALONE ON THIS 1 . -LOL- UMMM I REALLY TRULY THINK THE PEOPLE USE SOMETHING ELSE BECAUSE I TRIED IT ONCE IT DIDNT WORK AT ALL I THINK SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH FOR REAL .
they use photo editing software to make it look better than it really is.
no they probably already have good hair.

or in the weight loss thing they just switch people and do some photshoping

Does horse shampoo hurt your hair or body when you use it?

i want my hair to grow faster and people are saying to use horse shampoo will this hurt or is it totally ok to use?Does horse shampoo hurt your hair or body when you use it?
Horse Shampoo is perfectly healthy for your hair.Does horse shampoo hurt your hair or body when you use it?
That ';horse shampoo'; won't make your hair grow any faster. It's all hype, but if it makes you feel better, then go ahead and believe it. But don't be disappointed when it doesn't make a difference.

It won't hurt your hair or body. It is just plain shampoo. Nothing fancy about it. We use it on animals all the time, and we have used it on people in some salons as a cheap shampoo. It is basic detergent without all the additives. It works very well as a general cleaner for all sorts of things. But it won't make your hair grow.

Your hair grows as it should. You can slow it down a bit by being in poor health, by poor nutrition and disease. But if you are healthy, then your hair is growing as fast as it is programmed to grow. There is no magic pill or anything you can put on the outside that will make it grow faster, thicker, longer. Look after it and it will be as best it can be.
Hair isn't alive and it doesn't grow, it is an accumulation of keratin in the follicle, so no shampoo can do anything to make it grow faster. Mane n' Tail is the horse shampoo that people are talking about, it is fine for you to use and everyone really likes it... it's a gentle shampoo.
yeah ive heard many celebs including jennifer aniston uses the shampoo main and tail. its harmless and makes your hair shiny and thicker overtime. but i have used it and it makes your hair stink! lol i stopped using it because i hated the smell it was kind of like BO lmao
i think it would make your hair fall out but dont freak out cause im not sure...

And it is growing really fast, also my hair is really soft! I highly suggest getting this shampoo and conditioner!

It does wonders for your hair. It gives it body and keeps your hair from breaking.

You can get it at any Ulta or most salons.

    Herbal Essences hello hydration shampoo/conditioner

    Dove intense moisture shampoo/conditioner
Sunsilk Anti Poof, or Sunsilk Anti frizz. Or Vive Pro Smooth intense for dry rebellious hair
loreal...for thick, unrully hair....it comes in a orange bottle...great stuff!
Aveda's Sap Moss hair treatment followed by Sap Moss shampoo..then follow with a hair gloss or hair smoother, San Sebastian is a good hair gloss, on either dry or wet hair, I think a little on the dry side is better. Tigi After Party is also good for smoothing on dry hair, because it conditions and really softens.
I had the same problem!! I used to straiten my hair every day, and because it was so thick it took me an hour. I found a solution, a shampoo and conditioner called ';straiten up'; its by Sunsilk it in a purple bottle. This stuff really works!! Hope this helped!
My daughter has the same problem. So I went down and took her to the beauty salon and they put a permanent solution in her hair, normally you would use this to curl your hair right, but they just combed it through and it came out beautiful, no more frizz. Yes, because her hair is thick and curly, it came out as a soft wave, but that was alot better them before, Now this cost me $80.00 to do this, so the next time we did this, I went to a beauty supplier store, and the were very helpful on which permanent solution to buy, and it was less then $20.00, and again it worked great, just remember to follow the instructions, just don't use the curlers, just comb it through and remember to get it completely drenched in the really thick area of your hair. You might need someone to help you with this, because the back of you head and you don't want to get this stuff in your eyes. After this you'll need to get a hair cut, only because the ends get damage with any permanent, but only a trim, OK. Good luck with this. I hope I have help you out.
    zero frizz...or citre shine
curls rock by catwalk....and it smells lovely.....you should then follow up with their curl amplifier...which is a styling cream that will settle down your frizziness.

Does main and tale shampoo really make your hair grow longer?

If so how much inches a month?Does main and tale shampoo really make your hair grow longer?
From my experience with this product, I would say that it does make your hair grow. As far as how much, that is hard to judge. Everybodies hair grows differently, but I had one client whos hair grew about 3/4-1in per month, while she used mane n tail.Does main and tale shampoo really make your hair grow longer?
Nothing makes your hair grow 'faster', just certain products help strengthen your hair so there is less breakage. If you are growing your hair out, try this site. http://www.longhaircommunity.com/
Yes, it helps it to grow, it is really good stuff, it may not just shoot out really fast, but it will grow longer and faster as to if you didn't use it.
I am not sure. I am in my trial period as we speak. However, it made my hair quite thick and my breakage was cut by 80%. Normally I will see floods of hair on the floor when blow drying but since using it, it had not done so. Good luck!
how much a month? i want to buy this 2!! i heard it works fantasticly

Need a good cleaning shampoo for color treated hair?

I'm a guy who colors my hair to cover up the grey. I'm going to use permanent dye next time I color. I am looking for a shampoo that has good cleaning power as my scalp tends to get oily but one that hopefully won't strip the color as soon as I use it. I love American Crew shampoo but that takes out the color of temporary dye. I also use Modern Organic Productions Blue shampoo which is a great cleaner but also strips the color out.

Any suggestions of brands to check out (either commercial or salon) would be great. Thank you!Need a good cleaning shampoo for color treated hair?

I use Pantene Relaxed and Natural shampoo and conditioner for women of color. What is the best shampoo conditioner for coarse hair??
motions is the best ever. try it
I was a former stylist. Look in a salon that sell KMS products, the best stuff always has a price, but this isn't a product with New York pricing either. Use their Nefa shampoo, (smells like coconut) they use pure vegetable fatty acids or ';essential fatty acids';, (amino acids) I used a product on clients named Ultra Pak, smells like chocolate. Use it as a repair product, then swith to one called Replace. Sometimes all you have to do is repair the hair first and swith to a good moisturizing conditioner. Its been a few years, so they may have something even better now. I have found that many products have polymers, if that is on the label of ingredients, don't use it, they dry the hair. Do it and tell me how it goes, look online and in yellow pages for a salon that sells them. Are you a redhead? African American hair responds well to this too for softer hair.
Pantene always works well for me --- try the deep conditioning treatment they have.
Try Mane %26amp; Tail -- it's the same ingredients used for horses! (not joking -- the stuff works and it's reasonably priced!)
Why dont u try Keune or Wella. Wella Kolestral for curly hair and Emulsion for straight hair.
    sunsilk
i think its sunsilk. really good stuff.
I have coarse hair too. Plus, mine tends to be dry sometimes. I use Keracare shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo detangles my hair and retains moisture. When I'm done, my hair is very soft and manageable.
I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair and i use this conditioner by Nexxus called Humectin. It adds moisture to my hair so its softer. It's the only thing that works for me :-)
Try using Keracare. It's expensive, but it works great with my hair. I have coarse long hair (not a weave) so keeping it nice is a real challenge.

What Ammonium Chloride? And why is is burning my hair when i use a shampoo that has it, as an ingredient?

I have been washing my hair with the same shampoo for the last 20yrs and these last couple of weeks for some reason when i wash my hair is been burning the heck out of my scull. I started reading the ingredients and the only thing that caught my attention was ammonium chloride. Why?What Ammonium Chloride? And why is is burning my hair when i use a shampoo that has it, as an ingredient?
It may have changed the pH of the shampoo and that's what's irritating your skin. What Ammonium Chloride? And why is is burning my hair when i use a shampoo that has it, as an ingredient?
Ammonium Chloride is a mild acid, That is why it might be bothering you. But if you have been using it for 20 yrs I am not sure why it is bothering you now. Have you changed any other types of hair product that might be reacting with it?

What is a good shampoo to make my hair grow fast?

i got a really bad haircut and style yesterday and i need it to grow more for school so i don't look like a complete idiot.it is shoulder length. she did terrible layers and terrible side bangs so i need it to grow. how long would it grow and how long would it take? also where can i buy it?What is a good shampoo to make my hair grow fast?
Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner. It was meant for horses but people started using it and their hair was growing very fast and was smooth. You can buy these at drugstores, walmart, e.t.c.

Your hair might not grow as fast as you think. Just be patient and when you finish washing your hair rinse with cold water. Don't brush it all the time, take a multi vitamin pill/drink. Biotin, Vitamin A and B3 are good, too.

Make sure you get a lot of protein, as hair is made of that and keratin. Don't wash your hair every day, for that will tire it and make it limp and damaged.

Don't use heat alot either, to much heat is really bad for hair. Remember heat protectant.

Hope I could help! What is a good shampoo to make my hair grow fast?
i know what you are going through. about 2 years ago this lady cut my hair to short and to many layers. my hair was so short, it was halle barry short!! always thought there could be a solution to having the hair grow faster but ads about that kind of stuff personal thought is a scam. i agree with the first answer.. just to learn to like your hair. style it the way you want it to. you have to 'train' your hair. straightener usually helps style hair pretty good. make your hair look cute. because hun the hair can't do it for you. haircuts are never that perfect they way you picture it in your head. but you can, if you make it look good.
i dont know of any shampoo except horse shampoo but here are some tips

    1. drink plenty water

    2. dont eat junk

    3. dont pull or tug on your hair

    4. massage your head everyday

    5. braiding your hair makes it stronger (it will help it grow faster also)

6.get a trim every six weeks

7.take vitamins (look on hairboutique.com and search hairtopia)

8.wash your hair every other day

    9.avoid heated hair tools

    10. have a good diet by eating fruits and vegtables

    hope i helped
Take fish oil pills and like brush you hair one hundred times a dday.

%26amp;no heat styling and massge your scalp a lot.

Sadly, there is nothing proven that really makes hair grow.

Same here. I use Pantene. Just the classic: http://www.pantene.com/en-US/product/classiccare_classiccleanshampoo.jspx

It works like a charm no itchy head, no greasy hair.

    Much Luck!
maybe you have ruined your hair by washing it everyday. that can make it worse. baby shampoo or the old prell that came back out is good for taking oils out of hair. be careful about the every day wash, that can make it more greasy.
Are you sure your not my long lost twin, cause you sound just like me. Try Pantene sheer volume shampoo it's great for all styles of hair.

  • For experienced users only!! What is the BEST hair growth shampoo out there?

Regardless if I have to order online, also, how will I buy it and where is it?For experienced users only!! What is the BEST hair growth shampoo out there?
The best shampoo that will enable your hair to grow is one that is appropriate for your hair texture. I don't believe that shampoos hasten hair growth, but if you find one that is good for your hair, you will decrease the amount of split ends, and split ends cause your hair to look as though it is growing slower (which is why they recommend you cut your hair every 6 weeks or so). Therefore, I personally use Redken Smooth Down, which is for dry/unruly hair (my hair texture). I also use a Rusk sea-kelp lusterizer, which protects my hair when I blow it dry. Your best bet is to find shampoo that is designed for your texture. I do not recommend buying shampoo from Wal-Mart, as the conditioner is chalked full of stuff that coats your hair to make it soft and shiny, but really continues to pile on. It is better to find conditioner that leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean and not smooth clean. A really nice shampoo and conditioner is the Pureology line, especially if you have color-treated hair. It is on the expensive end, but it is nice. I recommend Redken products or Healthy Sexy Hair products if you don't want to spend a lot of money. Also, hair grows when you stimulate the scalp, so when I lay in bed at night, I massage my scalp lightly. You can try that as well. For experienced users only!! make hair healthier.. yes

I don't know, but if you find out, email me!
I have heard of a shampoo called ';Tail and Mane'; and it will make your hair grow. Thats right its used on horses but its good for our hair too.
Nioxxin, if it's thinning. It works to deep clean the follicles if your hair has little clogs in the hair follicles that prevent it from growing. If you simply want it to grow faster, no shampoo can do that. The best thing to do is take vitamins and get a shampoo that will help keep it from breaking, and the shampoo that works best for that depends on your hair type.
Nioxin is a very effective product for stopping hair loss, breakage, and creating a healthy environment for hair growth. I have about 12 clients using it. All 12 have experienced improvement. Go here and you can see how it works, where to buy it, and talk to a consultant about specific problems you're having with your hair. I have used it when my hair started falling out due to stress. Many of my clients have used it to stop breakage and thinning. It stopped my hair from falling out, and I have lots of new hair growing in. My clients have had similar experiences.

I get blonde in my hair during the summer due to chlorine and sun, so is there a shampoo that will dye my hair just to get the blonde out?? I have brunette hair. Thanks! Is there a shampoo that will make my hair browner?
    yes there is a couple.

Pantene BRUNETTE EXPRESSIONS DAILY COLOR ENHANCING SHAMPOO

    John Frieda Brilliant Brunette

    BumbleandBumble-Warm Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner

    Cool Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner

    Brown Hair powder

    those are just a few

How did you go about using the cleansing shampoo for your hair drug test and what kind?

I have used All Clear and Nutregena and Extreme. How did you go about using the cleansing shampoo for your hair drug test and what kind?
Hair gets drugs in it from the follicle where the hair is growing from, so it ends up in the hair shaft itself. Any and all cleaning products will only clean the outside surface of the hair shaft and will have no effect on the inside of the hair shaft thus having no effect on the drug test.

If I am about to use henna in my hair, should I shampoo AND condition it before?

Some sites say you should only condition your hair or only shampoo it before you put henna in it. I'm wondering which is true, or which would make the henna work betterIf I am about to use henna in my hair, should I shampoo AND condition it before?
No actually you do not have to shampoo and condition your hair beforehand but your hair should be clean and not have any oily build up. If your hair texture is more on the drier side then you should add conditioner or hair oil to your henna mixture/recipe for sure as to not dry your hair out as herbal treatments can be drying at times on different hair textures.

It is known that henna is actually easier to apply onto DAMP hair (like towel dried). It is so much easier adn much less messy! So try that.

The above tips should make your henna application much easier. Make sure you use body art quality henna powder as it is the purest henna out there with no additives nor metallic salts. Hope this helps! I've been natural hair care for at least 10 yrs.If I am about to use henna in my hair, should I shampoo AND condition it before?
you're welcome and thanks too! Report Abuse

don't use henna at all! its very damaging!
I agree. Once you use henna on your hair you may not be able to change the color with regular hair dye. Some hennas are metallic dyes, when you mix them with dye, you could burn off your hair. Something to think about.
Henna is a safe and natural dye. The only time you will have problems is when you use an impure henna product.

You want to start putting the henna on your hair when it is fairly clean, but dry.

YOu smush it in and let it sit for several hours and then wash out.http://www.hennacaravan.com/forums/viewt鈥?/a>

  • Is there a shampoo that hides my grey hair for men?

My hair is becoming grey and I want a shampoo to hide it, but I do not want to use color products. Is there another way?Is there a shampoo that hides my grey hair for men?
Yep use nair then you wont see a single grey hair on your head for a few weeksIs there a shampoo that hides my grey hair for men?
There is a product line called ';Just for Men.'; It is a color product, but not like you think. You just take a little comb and brush it in with a tiny brush. Easy. My mom has short, dark hair and that's what she uses to cover her grays. She's a bit of a tomboy and can't be bothered to get her hair styled or colors. She was using shoe polish before she discovered how easy it was to use Just For Men.

    Good luck!
No, but you might try one of the shampoo's for certain colors of hair. Such as Pantene, or John Freida: Blonde, Brunette, etc. I don't really think they'll work from keeping your hair turning grey, but it might help to enhance the color you do have.
Several companies make colored shampoos and color rinses, the only problem with these is that everything your hair touches will turn colors, like your pillow for instance. If your hair gets wet, the color will run onto anything, including your collar.

My suggestion would be to use a semi-perm color, but if you want it to match, spend the extra money and have it done by a professional. Otherwise you'll end up like a ton of guys whose hair I've fixed because it ended up un-natural looking, either by being too dark, or too light.

You can also call a high end salon and ask to speak to their color specialist. She/he may be able to whip you up a shampoo with perm color in it.

The problem with grey hair is that it is hard to hide. Only a semi-perm or perm color will hide it. It's stubborn and rinses/shampoos usually wont work.
Pantene has a color shampoo but its not a dye

Just look down the shampoo side there are a few others out there for like blonde's brunettes reds all that. You can try that if they doesn't work then your gonna have to use the just for men shampoo but its a color.
    shoe polish
    no
    Sometimes perhaps
    yes go to store
Try this natural remedy. To check graying of hair, mix lemon juice in olive oil, beat till frothy and apply on scalp and wash off after an hour. Premature graying of hair can be postponed by using a strong decotion of black tea and a tablespoon of salt, strain and apply to the roots for 45 minutes and wash with water. Don't shampoo. Will hair formular 37 shampoo & conditioner make my hair grow faster?

ive heard this really does work but i dont really want to take the vitaminss, anyone know if shampoo and conditioner will work on itss own? thankss :) .Will hair formular 37 shampoo %26amp; conditioner make my hair grow faster?
No. You cannot make your hair grow faster with beauty products, but you can help to keep it in good condition (i.e. avoid loss through breakage). A regular trim (6 weeks) will do more good though. Will hair formular 37 shampoo %26amp; conditioner make my hair grow faster?
No. No shampoo, Conditioner, Hair product or Vitamins will make hair grow faster.

Is there a shampoo that will make my hair thicker?

I am a guy my hair is about 5-6 inches long all around, trying to grow it out a little more. My problem is that my hair is thin and just mats down most of the time. I use some shampoo, but I am not sure of the specifics, and no conditioner.

Does that Mane and Tail make it thicker? Is it all about conditioner? Is there a shampoo that will make my hair thicker?
yes i use it all the time it works go 2 the store and buy selsun blue. it will work.

Does curl enhancing shampoo work on straight fine hair?

I REALLLLYY want natural wavy hair , not like curling iron icky looking. I have straight fine hair that WILL NOT curl. Will a curl enhancing shampoo help it?Does curl enhancing shampoo work on straight fine hair?
Curl enhancing shampoo does just what it says....enhances curl. There has to be some curl/wave in your hair to enhance it. If it is straight and fine, then I would say .....no curl without the irons.Does curl enhancing shampoo work on straight fine hair?
i hate to tell you this but NO.

i have extremely straight fine hair. i have tried just about every curl shampoo and none of them worked.

    but here's what i do...

    1. get someone to french braid your hair

    2. sleep with it like that

    3. take it down the next morning and run your fingers through it(but do not brush it because if you do it might frizz)

    4. you are ready to go.
Sorry no, i bought some like i think 3 different kinds and mine has a slightly wave and did nothing, total waste of money
    Sorry no, save your money.

By using Nioxin shampoo did anyone notice more hair fall and from the roots?

I used Nioxin two times and ever since my hair is falling out like crazy and all from the roots. Did this happen to anyone else?By using Nioxin shampoo did anyone notice more hair fall and from the roots?
Nope. Just you. I'd go ahead and shave it before it all falls out.By using Nioxin shampoo did anyone notice more hair fall and from the roots?
    No
I've never used that brand of shampoo, however check the label. Was it made in China?? If so... throw it out IMMEDIATELY!!!
I used the entire Nioxin regimen for six months and observed no more hair loss than usual. Unfortunately, the treatments did not promote hair growth either.

Should you be experiencing a noticeable hair loss, and from the roots, I suggest you consult a physician. Your problem could be a hormonal unbalance: hormones run amuk!

What shampoo is best to help dry hair on a baby?

My baby girl is 11 months old and for the past month I've noticed she gets very dry hair on the back of her head. It's so dry that it makes her hair stick up and I can't get it to not stick up. It looks like I never comb her hair. It's actually very cute and funny looking.I currently use Johnson %26amp; Johnson's baby shampoo with lavender. Are there any shampoos that help with dry hair on a baby? Do they make conditioners for babies? What shampoo is best to help dry hair on a baby?
I would use conditioner. There are baby conditioners out there, but really, you should be just fine to use the kind you use. Especially with the formaldehyde statistics coming out about all the baby shampoos, I am weary to recommend any baby product.

Just use your regular conditioner on the back of her head. If you just use it on the back, then you shouldn't have to worry about getting any in her eyes. What shampoo is best to help dry hair on a baby?
You could try California Baby Hair Conditioner. I've heard good things about it!: http://www.diapers.com/Product/ProductDe鈥?/a>

You may want to consider switching your baby wash/shampoo. The ones put out by Johnson %26amp; Johnson have gotten some bad press lately. Read this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con鈥?/a>

Aveeno is also put out by them and has the same issue. California Baby brand in general is clear though.. and I use a brand from Germany called Weleda. I used to use Aveeno but switched over after the study came out. California Baby and Weleda sold in Babies R Us or on Amazon.
I use the huggies brand of shampooing, its shea and cocoa butter, or something, and it smells great and leaves my daughters hair feeling soft and silky. I also have the Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo with lavender and I found that it left my daughters hair lacking. It is worth a try. ALSO I have Organic baby wash and hair wash that I love. Check it out, at your local health nut store. My mum got it for me, and its quite nice.
You could go to kids shampoo they have conditioner in them I use suave for kids cherry its a 2 in one. Loreal has one too. But they also have shampoo and conditioner separate, look in the shampoo section at your store there are lots with no tear formula. Also, if the baby's hair is short I use to use baby lotion on my kids' heads. It helps with dry scalp and cradle cap, and it will train the hair to stay down. You could also try that. Good luck.
i have the same problem my self, i know im not a baby but my hair gets extremely dry i gotta use conditioner or wash my hair every other day..

my daughters hair, i wash every other day because her hair gets dry after one day and the second its greasy idk how and idk why but it is and i use johnsons and johnsons head to toe..
She doesn't need shampoo at all. There are plenty of adults who don't shampoo their hair. It's just too drying.

You can wet it and then put conditioner in it. Use a mild conditioner- it will be fine for her even if it's not made for 'babies.'

I shampoo my three year old's hair only about once a week, my own, every three days or so, and only on the crown. We both use a ton of conditioner, the same for both of us, treseme with vitamin B5.
    Aveeno Baby Wash

    works miracles!!

also only shampoo about every other day and use a little of your own conditioner even if its not meant for babies it will be ok
Its getting dried out from being washed too much. I would only actually use shampoo like once a week and wet/condition it as needed.
I just asked this question and I got some pretty great answers take a look http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
We started using Aveeno Baby shampoo and it works on my son really well. It's very mild and i think that's what helps him.

  • What shampoo/conditioner is good for preventing hair damage?

My hair isn't damaged yet, but I feel like it's kind of getting there. I see alot of comercials that say their product will prevent hair damage, but I'd rather hear from someone who has a shampoo/conditioner that has worked for them. Any suggestions? What shampoo/conditioner is good for preventing hair damage?
    DAMAGED HAIR

    1. Damaged hair is another way of saying dry and brittle hair, This happens by using heat tools such as hair straighteners.

    2. If you really like straightening your hair and on the other side you don't want it to get damaged than you should buy a heat protector spray some are cheap and some are a little pricey but its worth it.

    3. Try a different washing product for your hair, I suggest you to try PANTENE PRO V ( PINK) This shampoo and conditioner will change your life because it is an amazing product! It repairs your hair from damaged to REALLY SILKY,SHINY, SLEEK AND SMOOTH HAIR!!!!! I hope you try this out because it really helps out!

    DID YOU KNOW?

Brushing your hair to much will cause 45% of damage?

Changing your shampoo and conditioner alot will cause damage?

Heat (such as the sun) can make your hair be oily, dry and look really greasy?

Flat iron's are way better than other hair straighteners?

Combs are better for your hair than other brushes?

    TRY OUT

Lorel paris ( pink spray) helps split ends and makes hair shiny and silkyWhat shampoo/conditioner is good for preventing hair damage?
Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship. It's technically for ';long hair'; but anyone can use it. I use it, and I LOVE it. It the best shampoo and conditioner combo I've ever used. It's specifically designed to prevent split ends and breakage, and to treat whatever damage you already have. It's cheap too! You can find it anywhere. They also have a leave in split end mender/protector and that's really good as well. All of the Long Term Relationship products smell and work amazing. Plus, they got a really high review on the Herbal Essences website and on makeupalley! Try, I think you'll really love it.

If you want your hair to look GREAT, go to a salon/beauty supply store, and get BIOLAGE shampoo %26amp; cond. I absolutely love it!! But, it is expensive. $15-25 a bottle! But my hair looks amazing def. worth the price.

Is it true that when you mix rosemary, lavender, and jojoba oil into your shampoo your hair grows?

i have been using this method for a period of six months and my hair grew rapidly, like about 4 inches of hair is their somethign else i can use beside that?Is it true that when you mix rosemary, lavender, and jojoba oil into your shampoo your hair grows?
It is a myth.Is it true that when you mix rosemary, lavender, and jojoba oil into your shampoo your hair grows?
it helps growth because they are supposed to be good conditioners for ur hair if u use it as a supplement to your washing schedule.... So, definately I wouldn't stop doing it if you're aiming for growth, but there is something that WILL help your hair strength and growth in general and that is hair, skin and nail vits you can find at a health supply shop.
I've never heard that before but I want my hair to grow longer so I'm gonna try that where did you get all that stuff just at a local store and you mixed it right into your shampoo?
Hair grows anyway, love, whether you add oils to your shampoo or not. Growing is the only thing hair CAN do....

Healthy hair normally grows about 6 inches a year in average and faster during the summer than during any other season. So if you've grown 4 inches in the last 6 month it's nothing but normal.

What you can do though is invest in a good range of hair products, and limit breakage and split ends so that you need fewer trims and can actually keep your new growth.

What shampoo and conditioner is safe for hair extensions?

I just got individual strand keratin bonded hair extensions a few days ago. I'm about to wash my hair for the first time, and I need to know a few specific brands of shampoo and conditioners that are safe. I've heard that a de-tangling shampoo is best and not to use anything with alcohol or oil, but I'm having trouble finding anything that meets those standards. It's ok to use any shampoo + conditioner, and remember not to do the roots because it will make your extensions fall out! I would use one not too cheap but not too expensive :)What shampoo and conditioner is safe for hair extensions?
shampoos like nexxus, herbal Essence, pantene, head and sholders.
suave is safe. i used it once.

Shampoo for hair that gets oily fast?

I wash my hair every other day %26amp; it gets really greasy the 2nd day:/

I currently use Garnier Fructis, before that i used Dove..

So do you know of any shampoos for greasy hair?Shampoo for hair that gets oily fast?
Well, I used Herbal Essences Color Me Happy, even before I dyed my hair, and it made my hair so smooth, and didn't make it greasy.

And my hair gets greasy at the end of the day, and I shower everyday.

Another tip; put some baby power on your hair, it takes away the grease.

  • What shampoo is good for really oily hair?

My 6 year old daughter has the greasiest head ever....I've tried everything. It's straight, and dark brown, which doesn't help the appearance. It's always really shiny on top, weighed down and stringy looking.

On the same note, her 4 year old sister has curly/wavy hair, kind of fly away right now. I would like to define her curls more. Anything that could help this? Thanks in advance. What shampoo is good for really oily hair?
It might be a couple things. and shampoo may not even be the problem

    Remember this technique when washing

*Shampooing - apply to very wet hair, and only at the scalp area. u dont need to apply and scrub shampoo at the ends.. If it doesnt lather the trick is to rinse the hair and shampoo a second time. dont be afraid to be vigorous once in a while because the scalp needs some help soemtimes.

*Conditioner- Apply to hair that's been rung out and only to the ends. applying conditioner to the scalp can make it greasy and plus our scalp produces its own oil. it doesnt need help.

but as for good shampoos... i do recommend a professional brand. it does make a difference because the ingredient quality is much higher in professional..

i suggest Remedy shampoo from L'anza, or pepprmint from AG

as for the curly hair. same shampooing technique and she can use the same shampoo and conditioner but use a cream product like Bouncy Cream from ISO after she gets out of the bath. it will be like a leave in conditioner with curl definition.

All those products im sure u can get from a salon. hope that helps even a little bit :)What shampoo is good for really oily hair?
Im a skin analyst and beauty advisor and i'm very picky and skeptical when referring products to my clients, i recommend nothing but the best and do my research on the product. For oily hair I recommend the Satinique Revitalizing Hair Cleanser and the Volumising Detangler. They are just awesome!! Because your babies have different hair types, I would suggest the Revitalizing Cleanser and the Moisturizing Detangler.

I get mine from quixtar.com, type ';satinique'; in the search box.

    you can only shop here by referral, the refferring # is 5147404 and the key is ';nav';

What is the best shampoo for greasy hair?

    Aussie-Its called Cleanse and Mend.

Gears towards greasy roots and frizzy ends. I really love this shampoo because the biggest problem I find with my greasy hair is that it doesn't start that way , but depending on what kinda shampoo I use it gets that way and LOOKS that way really fast-which I hate.

I just switched to this brand a few months ago and have been having great luck:)What is the best shampoo for greasy hair?
Not what you might think. First, stop shampooing every day. Second, when washing your hair, wash with the palms only and don't dig your fingers in deeply to remove the grease and oils from your hair and scalp. Use the best shampoo you can buy (get some from the hair salon, and talk to any hair stylist there, to find out the proper shampoo and conditioner for your hair and scalp) and conditioner. Use no more than enough shampoo than a 'dime' in size, wash your hair from the ends in toward your scalp and condition. Wash your hair only when it's greasy and dirty looking. If you use less shampoo, wash with the palms of your hands, this should be between 4-7 days after your first 'shampooing the proper way.' You'll be very surprised at how much different your hair feels, and how clean and soft it is days after you wash it properly. I know that your mother probably told you to dig in and scrub to get rid of all of that grease, but it's that digging and scrubbing that is causing your hair to get greasy to begin with. Also using too much shampoo, especially the regular shampoos you can buy at drug and grocery stores. Yes, the shampoo from the hairdresser is more expensive ... but why not pay more if you know how to wash your hair properly and maintain it, use far less shampoo, and look really good? In the end, you'll pay more 'going in' but you may buy only 1-2 bottles of shampoo a year, not 12 ... which makes the expensive hairdresser stuff actually cost far less. Buy a different brand of hairdresser shampoo (be sure to ask them which is best) when your first one is running out, because you should change brands every time you change bottles for the health of your hair. I used to be a dig and scrub with my fingers person. I asked my hairdresser what to do, bought the much better hairdresser recommended brands, saved money, and now have hair that, for the last 5 years, looks really good! I'm 58 ... you are much younger than me, I'm sure, so your hair can look great far longer if you stop washing wrong, buy the more expensive shampoo, and make good friends with a good hairdresser! What is the best shampoo for greasy hair?
Nature's Gate. I stopped using Pantene and all those generic brands because of the high level of chemicals and parabens, which can actually cause more long-term damage (and simply aren't meant to be put into your body). Nature's Gate is wonderful, and they sell it at any local health food store. Another I love is Dr. Bronners liquid soap which can be used as shampoo. That's another great one.

Another thing you could do is go to your local health shop and ask someone who works there about their hair and beauty products. Vegan products are great too.

    Hope it helps.
I have tried tea tree oil shampoo and it works pretty good. The one that I like the best is Redken Hair Cleansing Cream. It sounds dumb to put cream on oily hair, but it has fruit acids in it that strip away styling products and impurities. And you should use a light conditioner everyday especially in the winter, just don't put any on your roots.
I think Tresemme is really good. And pantene.

I have greasy hair as well but pantene is really good. You can buy the one for greasy hair or the the pantene shampoo with 2 in 1. It makes my hair really soft and non greasy looking.

hope this helped and good luck!
Tresemme. Only use the shampoo and then afterword use spray conditioner and spray only the ENDS of your hair with it. spraying the top of your hair makes it more greasy and oily.
Treseme. It's a little more expensive than your average shampoo, but not by much and it works wonders. Plus it comes in big tubs.
For me its teatree shampoo, but i dont use conditioner so maybe thats your problem.
bedhead dumb blonde shamp/condit are great.

  • What is a good shampoo for long hair?

I have long dark brown thick hair half way down my back and I used to have a perm so half of my hair is curly. I have been getting really bad split ends even after I have just gotten my hair cut so I'm wondering if its time for me to switch shampoos and find something that will strengthen my hair and get rid of my split ends. What kind of shampoo would people recommend for my kind of hair? What is a good shampoo for long hair?
being around hair stylists most of my life ive learned that you DO need to change your shampoo %26amp; conditioner every so often, your hair gets used to the product and sometimes your hair will stop reacting to it...heres what i suggest

    for something CHEAP

    1. Herbal Essenses Long Distance Relationship(red bottle)--this shampoo was created for people with long hair, it works really good, and for me atleast--it definitly has extra moisturizes in it.

    2. Garnier Frutis sleek and shine(lime green bottle), this shampoo really packs alot of moisture..if your hair is dry or your having split ends this will help.

    More EXPENSIVE

    1. Redken--the ';soft'; line is awesome, all of there moisturizing products are great. they also have a hair mask that you do once a week, it totally fixes split ends and fryed hair. redken has fab products...

    2. Biologe--leaves your hair feeling clean all the time, non greasy but it never lets your hair dry outWhat is a good shampoo for long hair?
You can't get rid of split ends without cutting them off, and shampoos don't strengthen your hair - the ones with sulfates (like every commercial shampoo) just strip your hair of its natural oils and make it dry and tangly.

Try using a sulfate free shampoo or shampoo bar, and a good, rich conditioner. Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose is really good, but not always easy to find (Whole Foods, some health food stores). My favorite that be found almost anywhere is L'oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss for long curly hair (formula with no amodimethicone). ';Dust'; your split ends when you find them - snip the single hair 1/2 an inch above the end of the split using a sharp pair of haircutting scissors - don't use a nail clipper or anything else, or it will grind the end up, making it split much worse later on.

Also, don't forget to do a deep treatment a couple of times a month to keep your hair moisturized and strong.
bed head would work perfectly for long nice soft thick hair!

    get the orange/mango-ish scented shampoo.its called ';Self Absorbed';

its really good...not exactly sure for the split end part though.

heres some more that will work if you don't like bed head, but im sure 100% guarantee that it will work if your aiming torward that target, but anyways theres Tresemme, lor'eal, and herbal essences

    hope this works!

i also want my hair to be super shiny to :)

lol . thanks guys :DWhats a good color treated hair shampoo ?
Your hair sounds EXACTLY like my hair...and I have dyed it just as many times. I always want my hair to be super shiny as well =)

Every time I dye my hair, I try to find a shampoo that will keep the red. Apparently it is the hardest color to maintain. Hairdressers and friends have recommended several brands of shampoo that I have tried over the years--all for color-treated hair. Unfortunately, I spent a lot of wasted money on expensive shampoos when I should have stuck with the brand I trusted before I dyed my hair. Dove. I buy the shampoo for darkened hair, and it does exactly what I want it to do. The color lasts a long time. My hair is soft and shiny, but never greasy. It is fairly cheap and found pretty much anywhere. Hope this helps!Whats a good color treated hair shampoo ?
let me start off by saying that your oily hair problem might partially be the result of you washing it too much. you should only be washing your hair once a day.

my hair is actually similar to yours -- i dye it and i also have an oil problem. in my experience, Biolage Color Therapie has been the best shampoo out there. it's expensive (big bottle is about $30) because it WORKS. Biolage is great for your hair, plus it has color protection. for conditioner i use Suave Humectant -- it adds a lot of moisture without adding grease. it's also really cheap.

on top of those two, i also use Selson Blue with added Moisture. this is the first thing i use, and you apply it to your scalp only. after that i use Biolage and then Suave. these products have really been working wonders for me.

and once you add moisture to your hair, shine should come with it!

hope this helps. it's worth a shot.
any kind of garnier fructis shampoo, using also conditioner. Totally marvelous. Best Hair product ever. I cant live without it.
    herbal essences..thats a good shampoo i use
they are all pretty much the same, seriously

What is the best organic shampoo and conditioner for curly hair?

I live in the southeast being hit by the drought so it is very humid and i have tons of flyaways and my hair comes out in clumps in the shower. What is the best organic shampoo and conditioner for curly hair?
Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Whats an easy way to straighten hair without a straightener or special shampoo or conditioner?

Is there an easier way to straighten your hair without a straightener or special conditioners? I was wondering if there was something cute(straight) that i could do to my hair.Whats an easy way to straighten hair without a straightener or special shampoo or conditioner?
There are straightning cream, and straightening sprays you can use. Im currently using John Freida Collection of products, and they have both of these products.

Basically you put it on your hair evenly in a spare-able amount [it's expensive for a little]. And then you comb it straight while blow drying.

IT works fine for my hair =DWhats an easy way to straighten hair without a straightener or special shampoo or conditioner?
don't use those stupid special ';straighting'; shampoo and conditioner they are meant for african american hair, and don't work on most girls.

i would suggest a good Straightener, CHI's are good but pricey. i got my Straightener from XS cargo for 25 dollars, it goes up to 430 degrees- I love it! But if you aren't into that you could always try going to a salon its like a perm but instead of making your hair curly they can make your hair Straight with chemicals, and it lasts for a while :) hope this helps :)
    use ghds
